An update on Rancocas Friends School from Nora Dunfee: "The program at Rancocas Friends School values each unique individual and offers the kind of curriculum where children develop their minds through intellectual growth with pre-academic readiness skills, natural sciences, social studies and emotional stability. Art and music play an integral part in the development and growth of the children, plus living out the knowledge that learning is fun and discovery along with awareness are daily rewards. Sixy-one years ago the Little Schoolhouse was re-opened based on the need to provide a school for the growing number of children in the community of Rancocas and surrounding areas -- the the school gets better every year! Enrollment continues to be good and we are looking forward to offering special events to enhance the program again this year. The school committee (clerk, Joe Jordan) and Advisory Board (clerk, Calvin Stevenson) are working closely together to support the school and have successfully created new ideas that are making a tremendous difference. This year we will open with a brand new, beautifully-built kitchen with needed storage for school supplies. This has opened up spaces in the main classroom to create a bright and cheerful learning environment. I am exicited about starting my 40th year at Rancocas Friends School this September and loving every minute of it. Come visit us and get involved in our little one-room schoolhouse. We welcome storytellers, craftsmen, or musicians. Call us - (609) 267-1265.
