February, 2009, part 1

Dear Parents,

The Ground Hog saw his shadow and we had another "snow day" good enough to go sledding and play. Now I hope we can get down to the business of school, fun projects to come and events.

This Thursday, Feb 12th (Lincoln's birthday) will be our Valentine's Day party at snack time. If you would like to send a treat, please sign up on the party sheet.

Friday, Feb 13th is the start of our Winter Recess. No school on Friday or Monday Feb. 16th. Return on Feb. 17th.

We will be doing our "Unit or Work" on wildlife or animals sometimes trained for the circus.

February is also the time we will start testing and evaluating where we are and what areas need to be emphasized for the rest of the year. This is a super group of children and this is a great year, thanks to you, our parents.

We are planning a trip to the theater on March 11th. We would like as many parents to come as possible. The bus will hold 24. No cost to you. We will be having the Wetlands Program, Trooper Tom and Vader in April. Also a trip to the Burlington County Library on March 16th. Details will be coming. We will also be doing the Trike-a-thon in April. Lots of help and support is needed for this. Let me know if anyone is interested in helping.

A PJ Day will be happening and a trip to the Pasta Shop, too.

All trips, with the exception of the theater trip, will be by carpool caravan.

If your child will be sending Valentine's Day cards, please be sure ALL cards come to school by Wednesday, Feb. 11th to be mailed in the envelopes on the cubbies.

Enrollment is open for Pre-K and Kindergarten for September, 2009. If you are interested, or know of someone who would like to be a part of the Rancocas Friends families, let them know and us.

We would love to have someone start "Family of the Week"

100th Day Party will be on the 27th of February. We would like everyone to bring 100 things in on that day.

PS: We will be filling our bird feeder again and noting which birds visit us. We will also make peanut butter pine cone feeders. We will gladly accept donations of old peanut butter!
