Dear Parents of the Class of 2008,

It is with great pleasure I will be looking forward to our new students and to renew the friendships with past families and children in the Rancocas Friends School Community.

The school year will begin on the Monday after Labor Day, September 8th, 2008. The first half of the students will start Monday, 9 a.m. -11:15 a.m. dismissal; the second half on Tuesday, September 9th. The entire group on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. dismissal, for the first week of school. You will be notified when your child starts. On Monday, September 15th, the full schedule will start for the school year.

• Half day: 9 a.m. to 12 noon
• Full day: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Extended care is available after 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. An extra charge is required for extended care.

As you know, we have re-opened our Kindergarten. This year the Pre-K and K will be sharing the one room schoolhouse, as do the clases at Princeton Friends School and several other Friends Schools with open classrooms. We have been grouping the 3 1/2 and 5 year olds for many years and the level of learning has been quite successful.

It is important that your children are at school before the structured clase time starts at 9 a.m. Arrival at 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. gives your child time to prepare for the day and to play with other classmates.

Please park in the school parking lot behind the building, and come into the schoolhouse with your child; arrival and dismissal times. No child will be dismissed to the parking lot alone.

Your child will need these items, clearly labeled:

• 1. A complete change of clothes suitable for the seasons.
• 2. Sweater
• 3. Smock
• 4. Box of tissues
• 5. Small pillow
• 6. blanket

• All children will need a snack the first week.
• Full Day students will need a snack and lunch.
• Half-Day students: only a snack when we start full time.

On your child's first day of school, please bring the Pupil Information form, the index card with your signatures and an updated Immunization Record from your doctor. This is required for all of our students.

The school calendar will list the vacations, holidays and events for the year. If there are changes or additions, you will be notified by phone or note.

Mark your calendar now for the Get Acquainted Wine and Cheese party for parents on Wednesday, September 24th, 7 p.m. Invitations will be coming closer to the date.
