Dear Parents,

School has only been in session for 21 days and it feels as if we have been together for months. Everyone is comfortable, knows the routine and finding their own place. The transition has been great! Our one-room schoolhouse is off to a good start. We have accomplished many things already and there will be many exciting projects, visitors and programs to come.

Today the new gym teacher starts. Thursday we will have the Weather Program and Alumni visitors.

We will be working on seasonal changes, painting with more than one color and symbols of October events and celebrations, and academics.

Please check your calendar:

• No school on Monday, October 13th, Columbus Day (check out the Indian Festival over the weekend, they have fun things for the children to do and see - and try that fry bread with sugar!)
• Tuesday, 21st. Parents Night, 7 p.m. Please try to come. It's important and I'll try to condense it.
• Friday, 31st, Halloween Party. Sign up if you would like to bring a treat. No Costumes.
• Meeting is hosting a Picnic for all families at Long Bridge Park, after church. More information will follow. The picnic will be provided by out Meeting members. Sunday, Oct 19th at noon.

A great idea for our May Fair "friendraiser" - for seed money has come in. Wendy will be in charge. We have also been asked to do the Pizza, too (later on, Super Bowl time.)

Reminder: Parents may come to the Channel 6 Weather program, 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 9th.
