Comprehensive, Student-Focused Quaker Education in Southern New Jersey
The School boasts a long tradition of excellence. It was established in 1681 and has been caring for children since 1822!
Additionally, the School is housed in the oldest one-room schoolhouse continuously in operation in Burlington County. Its location in charming, historic Rancocas Village is convenient to Westampton, Willingboro, Mt. Laurel and Moorestown.
In a world of laptops and iPads, we believe in old-fashioned educational values. The School nurtures children through personal interest and involvement, with a good dose of fresh air and fun!
The School exists under the care of the Rancocas Monthly Meeting and reflects Quaker values for education and social justice.
Demonstrating the School’s outstanding reputation, many former students now send their own children to learn here!
The School strongly encourages involvement by parents, siblings and other family members through programs such as “Family of the Week.”
The School places a strong emphasis on developing a love of reading. Two formal story times take place each day, plus visiting readers twice a week. One of our reading mentors is a former teacher, going strong at 96!
The hands-on, multi-sensory program provides a creative environment that encourages children to experiment, discover and grow at their own pace.
The School does not offer any “cookie-cutter” programs. We respond to each child’s individual needs and strengths in a caring, nurturing atmosphere.
Half- and full-day programs are available in addition to aftercare. All programs are offered at exceptionally reasonable rates; just compare our tuition rates to other private pre-school programs in the area!
Committed to Goodness
With two full-time teachers who live in the local community, the School is able to keep class sizes down. We also embrace diversity in all its beautiful forms.
In addition to a tried-and-true early education curriculum that focuses on art, music, natural sciences and physical fitness, plus reading and math, the School also engages children with compassion. Recent outreach projects included St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Burlington County Animal Alliance, collections for local families in need and a special outreach to children in Afghanistan.
The Rancocas Friends School is under the Governance of Rancocas Friends Meeting and Member of Friends Council on Education from Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.
